Helen Goossens

Project Advisor

Helen Goossens brings broad knowledge in the strategic approach to digital projects inside and outside the cultural sector. She focuses on an integrated approach based on strategic choices, with attention to context and technical possibilities. Always looking for simple solutions to complex challenges.

About Helen

After an education and career in (documentary) film production, Helen chose digital. As a project manager at a digital design agency, her focus was on finding the best strategic solutions for clients. From museums to financial institutions and from social organizations to NGOs. Her work encompassed everything from the first contact with the client to the delivery of projects. Preferably internationally, preferably in the cultural sector.

Vision

In her seemingly varied background, Helen always focuses on the audience. Sometimes this is a paying audience, sometimes it is an internal group of stakeholders: the question of how to create something must always be preceded by the question of for whom you are creating it. Especially when creating digital solutions, it only makes sense if all aspects of it are directly related to the audience for whom it is made. Almost everything is possible, but why and what is the best way?

In Helen's eyes, digital transformation is a necessary but challenging step for the cultural sector. Therefore, at DEN, she takes her role in working out how organizations can best be supported to implement it in the best way for them: beyond the why, also the how. It requires new knowledge within organizations, agility because you cannot know everything for sure, and the development of new patterns. The beauty of digital solutions: the first step is small, so don't wait, just start somewhere!

At DEN

At DEN, Helen focuses on narrowing the gap between expectations and results of digital projects and on improving organizational structures to enable innovation. She leads the Digital Resilience program and provides the workshops Digital Strategy and Getting Started with Innovation in Your Team.
