What steps can you take with your organization to increase digital maturity? At the DEN Academy, we use Forrester's Digital Maturity Model 4.0 for this.

The Four Quadrants of the Maturity Model

Forrester's model consists of the quadrants culture, organization, technology, and insights. Each quadrant says something about the digital maturity of your organization. Below, we briefly explain what each quadrant entails.

Culture

Digital transformation is leading in your organization and is supported internally by all your colleagues. Good internal and external communication about the organizational strategy is important. The focus is on digital leadership, and the customer experience is leading.

Organization

The entire organization is aligned with the digital strategy and its execution. The customer experience is leading in the organizational structure. There are sufficient resources available for the digital strategy, and all your colleagues possess digital skills. Additionally, all digital processes are in order, and suppliers add value to the digital strategy.

Technology

It is often thought that a lot of new technology is needed for a digital transformation, but did you know the opposite is true? A digital transformation consists of only 10% technology; the rest is the work of you and your colleagues. New technologies are embraced and implemented, and you have a flexible, iterative, and collaboration-oriented approach. You have sufficient digital tools to promote innovation, collaboration, and mobility.

Insights

The strategy and development of the organization are driven by customer insights. You have good methods to measure success and clear goals. All your colleagues know their contribution to achieving these goals. Lessons learned are part of the digital strategy to improve and further develop the organization.
